Jamila A. Butcher, DPM, AACFAS
Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Dr. Jamila Butcher developed an interest in podiatric medicine when she was a young girl. She was very involved with track and soccer in high school, and as a result, she suffered foot and knee injuries. This inspired her to learn more about the foot as it relates to sports-related lower extremity health and the prevention of injuries.
Dr. Butcher studied molecular biology at Hampton University, Hampton Virginia and obtained her doctorate degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York. She completed her surgical residency at the DVA New York Harbor Healthcare System where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Butcher is trained in all areas of podiatric medicine and surgery, including but not limited to, pedal dermatology, biomechanics and sports medicine, routine podiatric care, diabetic foot care, infectious disease, pediatrics, basic and advance biological wound care therapies, pain management, peripheral neuropathy, and limb salvage.
In her free time, she enjoys online shopping, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.
An Arizona native, Misty has over 25 years of experience working in the medical field. She maintains an Associate in Science as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and she is a Registered Medical Assistant who has taught in medical assisting training programs. Misty relates a high level of satisfaction in working with patients, families, caregivers, and health care providers in providing assistance in booking appointments, answering questions, and facilitating insurance processing.
When she is not busy helping patients, Misty loves spending time with her family and pets (her “other children”), and she credits her son with the ability to brighten her day with a hug. Misty also enjoys spending time outdoors.
